About this spot

In 2026, the Hassaku Festival runs September 5-6 (Saturday-Sunday), with the bon odori dance festival beginning at 7 p.m. on September 5 within the shrine grounds. Named after "Hassaku," which corresponds to the 1st day of the 8th lunar month, this festival marks summer's end and is cherished by the local community. Cap off your day of Arashiyama sightseeing by joining the dance circles within grounds watched over by the sake deity.
