About this spot

"Juuhachiya" held at Ryusenji Temple in Arita Town is a summer traditional event that has long been passed down to the region. The 2026 event will be held from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on August 18 (Tuesday). As the hustle and bustle of daytime settles, the mountain temple is quietly illuminated at night. While Toyama Shrine and the Tonbai-zuka townscape you visited during the day convey the "liveliness" of the pottery town, the evening at Ryusenji Temple is a time to feel Arita's other side - "stillness". Unlike the flashiness of urban fireworks festivals, this is a quiet evening moment where the prayers and traditions of local people are alive. Please slowly savor this quiet evening with your family.
