The gateway to Arita Town on the JR Sasebo Line. Before heading to "Juuhachiya" held at Ryusenji Temple in the evening, having an early dinner at a restaurant in front of the station will allow you to approach the evening event in the mountains with peace of mind. The front of the station in the evening has a calm atmosphere, which is just right for taking a moment to rest before the end of the day in the pottery town.

有田町の龍泉寺で営まれる「十八夜」は、地域で長く受け継がれてきた夏の伝統行事です。2026年は8月18日(火)19時から21時までの開催で、日中の喧騒が落ち着いた夜、山あいの寺にひっそりと灯りがともります。昼間に訪れた陶山神社やトンバイ塀の町並みが焼き物の町の「にぎわい」を伝える場所だとすれば、龍泉寺の夜は有田のもうひとつの顔である「静けさ」を感じられる時間です。都市の花火大会のような派手さはありませんが、地域の人々の祈りと伝統が息づく夜のひとときを、家族でゆっくり味わってください。
Tips
山あいのお寺のため、夜間は足元が暗くなります。懐中電灯やスマートフォンの照明を用意しておくと安心です。駐車場は台数に限りがあるため、早めの到着がおすすめです。静かな行事のため、境内では静かに過ごしましょう。
Tips
It's convenient to travel to Ryusenji Temple by car. At night, the mountain roads become dark, so try to leave early. It's also good to use the restroom here for peace of mind.

Takes approximately 1 hour. From around 4 PM when the sun starts to set, you can relax more.
