This whisky distillery, founded in 1934, still preserves its original red-roofed and stone buildings. The grounds feature museums displaying the founder's artifacts and facilities introducing the distillation process, with several free viewing areas. JR余市駅横の特設会場を舞台に、2026年8月9日に開かれる北海ソーラン祭りです。「ソーラン節」の勇壮なかけ声と太鼓のリズムにのせて踊り手たちが繰り広げる演舞は、見る者を引き込む迫力があります。会場には屋台も並び、踊りを見ながら軽食を楽しめるのも祭りの醍醐味です。駅からすぐという好立地もあり、夕方から夜にかけて地元の人も観光客も入り交じってにぎわうのが毎年の光景です。ウイスキーとフルーツで知られる余市の1日を、活気ある踊りの時間で締めくくります。
