A small fishing port in Kannai, a fishing village in Kumaishi facing the Japan Sea. Moored fishing boats and spread nets create a simple pastoral landscape unique to fishing villages, offering a glimpse of daily life rarely seen in urban areas. Simply walking around the port immerses you in the luxury of time wrapped in the scent of the sea and the sound of waves. As one of the stages of the Negasaki Shrine Grand Festival, visiting this district provides insight into the lifestyle behind the festival.

熊石の海沿いに鎮座する根崎神社で営まれる例大祭です。2026年は8月13日から15日までの3日間、関内地区から根崎地区、鮎川地区までの一帯を舞台に、地域をあげての祭礼が繰り広げられます。小さな漁村の神社ながら、太鼓や神輿とともに集落の人々が一体となって祝う様子には、都市部の大規模な祭りとは違う温かみがあります。日本海の潮風を感じながら過ごす、静かで印象深い夏の夜になります。
Tips
会場周辺は住宅地に近いため、車を停める際は地域の案内に従いましょう。飲食店や自動販売機が少ないエリアなので、事前に飲み物や軽食を用意しておくと安心です。夜は海からの風で肌寒くなることがあるので羽織ものがあると快適です。

The fishing port is an active work area, so observe quietly to avoid disturbing fishermen. With limited shade, wear a hat or sun protection during summer. Since there are no major commercial facilities nearby, bring your own drinks.
