About this spot

This small fishing port is located in the Sekinai district of Kumaishi, a fishing village facing the Sea of Japan. Moored fishing boats and drying nets spread out in a simple scene unique to a fishing village, offering a glimpse of everyday life you won't see in the city. Just strolling slowly around the harbor gives you a luxurious time wrapped in the scent of the sea and the sound of waves. As one of the settings for the Nezaki Shrine Grand Festival, this district also serves as an entry point into the everyday life behind the festival.

Tips

Since some parts of the fishing port are working areas, please observe quietly so as not to disturb the fishermen. There's little shade, so bringing a hat or sun protection is reassuring in summer. There are no large commercial facilities nearby, so bring your own drinks.

Best time to visit

About 50 minutes. The time before the sunlight gets strong is the most comfortable.
