View the Festival Venue from Ai-ai Bridge Spanning the Iruma River

A pedestrian-only bridge spanning the Iruma River, positioned near Tanabata-dori Shopping Street, the festival venue. From the bridge, you can overlook the river flow and surrounding streetscape, building anticipation for the festival about to begin. During the festival, Tanabata decorations may adorn the bridge area, allowing you to catch the festival atmosphere on your way to the venue. Just before the noon start, it's an ideal spot for a final meal or preparation.

狭山市駅西口市民広場から七夕通り商店街にかけて、2026年は8月1日・2日の12時から21時まで開催される市民総出の夏祭りです。商店街の頭上には色とりどりの七夕飾りが連なり、夏空の下で夏らしい華やかな景観をつくり出します。8月1日は12時から20時30分まで七夕通り商店街沿道に屋台が並び、昼から夜まで長時間にわたって賑わいます。正午の開始直後の明るい飾りの表情と、夜に照明が灯った幻想的な表情の両方を1日で楽しめるのも、この祭りならではの魅力です。

Tips

祭りは長時間にわたるため、こまめな休憩と水分補給を心がけましょう。日中は日差しが強いため、日よけ対策をしっかりと。夜は人出が増えるため、子どもとはぐれないよう注意しましょう。
