About this spot

This historic lighthouse stands on a cape on Himeshima and has watched over ships passing through the Seto Inland Sea. From around the lighthouse you can take in a sweeping view of the calm Seto Inland Sea, enjoying scenery that feels wonderfully open, unique to the island. The walking path to the lighthouse is well maintained, making for a pleasant stroll with the sea breeze. It's also close to the ferry terminal, the island's gateway, making it an easy starting point for exploring Himeshima.

Tips

There is little shade around the lighthouse, so a hat or parasol is reassuring during hot hours. Plan your movements around the island while checking ferry departure and arrival times.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. In the early afternoon, the blue of the sea looks especially beautiful.
