A massive kofun (ancient burial mound) with a reconstructed haniwa ritual site, traditionally believed to be the mausoleum of Emperor Keiko
About this spot
This keyhole-shaped burial mound is the largest in the Yodo River basin and is widely believed to be the true mausoleum of Emperor Keiko, a major ruler of the 6th century. You can walk on the mound itself, and in the area with the reconstructed haniwa ritual site, replicas of haniwa (clay figurines) shaped like warriors and animals are lined up. As a historic park, it's a popular spot for families where children can experience the authority of ancient kings by actually touching the artifacts.

高槻城公園芸術文化劇場周辺と城北通商店街を舞台に、2026年8月1日(土)・2日(日)の2日間にわたって開催される高槻市を代表する夏祭りです。会場では地元団体によるパレードやステージイベントなど多彩な催しが行われ、街全体が祭りムードに包まれます。リニューアルされた高槻城公園の広場と、昔ながらの商店街の両方が会場となるため、新旧の高槻の魅力を同時に感じられるのも特徴です。
Tips
会場周辺は歩行者天国となり混雑するため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。長時間の観覧になるため、こまめな休憩と水分補給を心がけましょう。夜は気温が下がるので薄手の羽織ものがあると安心です。
Tips
About 15 minutes by car or bus from JR Takatsuki Station. There is little shade, so don't forget a hat and drink in summer. You can also visit the exhibition facility at the adjacent 'Imashiro Great King's Forest.'
Best time to visit
Takes about 45 minutes. It's recommended to visit in the cool morning hours.
