About this spot

This beautiful gorge, carved by the Akutagawa River (芥川), spreads out just north of central Takatsuki. With well-maintained walking paths, it draws families enjoying river play in summer. Its scenic beauty of unusual rocks, waterfalls, and lush greenery earned it a spot among the Osaka's 100 Selected Green Sites (大阪みどりの百選), a rare gem combining easy access from the city with rich nature. It's also an ideal place to cool off during a midsummer sightseeing trip.

Tips

About 15 minutes by car from Imashirozuka Kofun. Some riverside spots can be slippery, so walking shoes are safer than sandals. Bring a change of clothes if you plan to play in the water.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour needed. Mornings, before the sun gets strong, are the most comfortable
