About this spot

This is Takatsuki City's leading summer festival, held over two days, Saturday August 1 and Sunday August 2, 2026, around the Takatsuki Castle Park Arts and Culture Theater and Johoku-dori Shopping Street. The venue hosts a wide variety of events including parades and stage shows by local groups, wrapping the whole town in a festive mood. Because both the newly renewed Takatsuki Castle Park plaza and the long-established shopping street serve as venues, visitors can experience the charm of both new and old Takatsuki at once.

Tips

The area around the venue becomes a pedestrian-only zone and gets crowded, so public transport is recommended. Since it can mean a long time watching the events, take breaks and stay hydrated regularly. Temperatures drop in the evening, so a light jacket or wrap is a good idea.

Right after the 2pm start it's relatively calm; it gets liveliest after 6pm once the sun goes down
