About this spot

Known as Osaka's main street, this is a wide avenue running north-south. The ginkgo trees planted along the promenade are emblematic of Osaka's urban landscape, and numerous restaurants line the avenue alongside office buildings. Since it runs right next to Kitamido, it's a convenient spot to stop for dinner before heading to the bon odori.

本町のオフィス街に建つ本願寺津村別院、通称「北御堂」の境内で、2026年8月19日(水)・20日(木)の2日間にわたって開催される盆おどりです。会場には出店が並び、日中はビジネスパーソンが行き交う本町の街が、夜になると提灯の灯る夏祭りの賑わいに一変します。周辺住民や勤め帰りの人々が気軽に立ち寄れる、都心ならではの盆おどりとして親しまれています。

Tips

御堂筋沿いにあり、地下鉄本町駅からすぐです。境内は日陰が少ないため、夕方でも暑さ対策を。周辺道路が混雑することがあるため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。
