About this spot
A traditional shopping street that spreads near the approach path to Oomiwa Shrine. Miwa is known as the birthplace of Miwa somen noodles, and numerous shops line the street serving this delicate, finely-crafted noodle dish. In the hot summer months, chilled somen is especially welcome, and a perfect break during your shrine visit. Simply walking the retro streets evokes the atmosphere of a shrine town.

大神神社の摂社である綱越神社で、2026年7月30日(木)から8月1日(土)にかけて行われる「おんぱら祭」です。初日30日は16時からの宵宮祭で幕を開け、夏越の祓としての意味合いを持つこの祭りは、半年間の穢れを祓い残り半年の無病息災を願う、三輪の夏の伝統行事として親しまれています。翌31日には例大祭・頓宮祭が行われ、境内は多くの参拝者で賑わいます。
Tips
大神神社の一の鳥居近くにあり、JR三輪駅から徒歩圏内です。境内は日陰が少ないため、夕方でも暑さ対策を忘れずに。周辺道路の駐車場は限られるため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。
