About this spot

This lifelong-learning facility in Ikoma City stands about 120 meters northeast of Kintetsu Ikoma Station, just a short walk away. It opened in 1981 as the Central Public Hall, and today it houses a 928-seat main hall, a smaller hall, seminar rooms, and Japanese-style rooms, serving residents as a venue for concerts, recitals, and lectures. Being right by the station, it makes an easy-to-find starting point for the day. On festival days, parents and children in yukata pass back and forth in front of the station, and the summer-festival atmosphere is already in the air.

Tips

Just steps from the ticket gates of Kintetsu Ikoma Station. There is little shade here, so if you're waiting for a while, it's best to do so inside the station or under the roofed deck. It's a good idea to buy drinks here in advance.

Best time to visit

About 40 minutes. Setting off around midday while it's still cool makes the rest of the day's schedule easier.
