A small plaza in front of the Kintetsu Ikoma Station, where a statue of Ikoma City's mascot character greets visitors. This is a convenient meeting point with nearby pedestrian bridges and benches to prepare for the day ahead. Ikoma Station is centrally located in the city and serves as the perfect starting point for visits to Hozan-ji Temple and Ikoma Mountaintop Amusement Park. On the day of the summer festival, families dressed in yukatas pass through the station, and the festive atmosphere already fills the air from the front plaza onward.

生駒市北部の地域住民に長く親しまれてきた夏の盆踊り大会です。北コミュニティセンターISTAはばたきの駐車場を会場に、日が暮れた17時ごろから提灯が灯され、中央のやぐらを囲んで盆踊りの輪ができ始めます。地元の子ども会や自治会が中心となって運営される、地域密着型の温かい雰囲気が魅力の祭りで、初めて訪れる家族でも輪に入りやすい和やかな空気に包まれます。夜が更けるにつれて輪はだんだんと大きくなり、20時30分ごろまで盆踊りの時間が続きます。
Tips
駐車場が会場となるため、車で訪れる場合は周辺の交通規制や駐車台数に注意しましょう。徒歩や自転車での来場が確実です。虫よけスプレーがあると屋外での夜の時間を快適に過ごせます。荒天時は中止や日程変更の可能性があるため、当日は生駒市や自治会の案内を確認しておくと安心です。
Tips
Just steps from the Kintetsu Ikoma Station ticket gate. With limited shade, for longer waits it's better to stay in the station building or under the pedestrian bridge. It's smart to purchase drinks here before heading out.
Best time to visit
About 40 minutes. Departing in the cool early afternoon will make the rest of your day's schedule more comfortable.
