About this spot

This shopping street spreads out around Kintetsu Ikoma Station, lined with restaurants and cafes. It's a perfect spot to rest after working up a sweat from mountain walking and the amusement park, and to have an early dinner before the Bon dance. The station building and shopping mall are also nearby, so it's convenient for picking up extra drinks or cooling wipes. As evening approaches, more parents and children in yukata appear, and the excitement of the summer festival begins to build near the station.

Tips

Restaurants and cafes are clustered just steps from the ticket gates of Ikoma Station. On the day of the summer festival it can get crowded, so it's reassuring to go in before 17:00. Using the restroom here as well means you won't have to rush once you arrive at the festival venue.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. The early part of the 16:00 hour is before the dinnertime rush, making it an easy time to get a seat.
