About this spot

This flower garden in Ogatsu, Ishinomaki, has about 2,000 square meters planted with roughly 130 varieties and 300 rose bushes. Besides roses, tulips, nemophila, hydrangeas, lavender, and other flowers bloom with the seasons, and in 2019 a heart-shaped rose arch and a garden café were added. The general incorporated association that runs the garden, Ogatsu Hana Monogatari (雄勝花物語), also works on greening support and disaster-prevention education, making this a place that conveys the community's forward-looking spirit through flowers. Adding color to the rustic scenery of this fishing port town, the garden is also popular as a spot for family photos.

Tips

Parking space is limited, so please share it courteously with other visitors. The surrounding roads also serve as everyday streets for the port town, so watch out for passing cars.
