Just a short walk from Takaoka Old Castle Park, this historic shopping street runs through the center of Takaoka. Lined with restaurants, cafes, and long-established Japanese sweet shops, it's perfectly located for a quick meal before heading to the festival venue at Takaoka Station-mae Street and Suehiro-machi Shopping Street. During the festival period, the entire shopping street is filled with festive atmosphere, allowing you to dine while watching preparations of the Tanabata decorations. Enjoy a proper meal during the early evening hours when it's beginning to cool, so you're ready for your evening exploration.

2026年で開催される高岡七夕まつりは8月1日から8日までの8日間、高岡駅前通りから末広町商店街にかけての一帯を舞台に行われる、北陸三大七夕まつりのひとつです。会場となる商店街には高さ数メートルにおよぶ大笹が連なり、色とりどりのくす玉や吹き流しが軒先から軒先へと揺れる光景は、鋳物の町・高岡ならではの夏の風物詩。日が暮れて提灯に灯がともると、浴衣姿の親子連れや若者たちでアーケードが埋め尽くされ、まち全体が七夕一色に染まります。今回のコースで訪ねる初日(8月1日)は、まつりが幕を開けたばかりの高揚感を味わえる日でもあります。

Tips

会場周辺は夕方以降、車両の通行規制がかかることがあるため、公共交通機関の利用が安心です。商店街は人通りが多くベビーカーでの移動はやや大変なので、抱っこ紐があると身動きが取りやすくなります。飲み物はこまめに補給しましょう。

Tips

After 5 PM, the venue area becomes crowded, so finishing dinner by 4 PM provides more freedom. Keep your belongings minimal so you can move easily through the crowded shopping street later.
