About this spot

This facility lets you see up close the gorgeous floats that are actually paraded through town during Yatsuo's traditional Hikiyama Festival. Adorned with intricate carvings and embroidery, the floats convey the craftsmanship and historical weight of Yatsuo, a town built on a hillside. The hall also displays materials related to Owara Kaze no Bon, deepening your understanding of the dance you are about to see. It's a fitting spot to start your day, giving you time to take in Yatsuo's traditional culture.

Tips

It's within walking distance of Suwacho Hondori Street. The hall is compact enough to see in about an hour, even at a relaxed pace. Even at the end of summer, it can still be humid outdoors, so it's also a good idea to cool off in the hall's air conditioning while you look around.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Early afternoon tends to be relatively uncrowded, making it easy to look around at a relaxed pace.
