The 2026 Tendo Summer Festival (33rd edition) takes place over two days, August 8 (Sat) and 9 (Sun), along the street stretching from the Tendo Onsen Shinoda Hospital South Crossing intersection to the west entrance of Wakuwaku Land. The festival runs from 11:00 to 21:00 on the 8th, and from 16:00 to 21:00 on the 9th. Food stalls line the venue street, drawing many families from evening into the night. Known as the town of shogi, Tendo takes on a lively summer-festival atmosphere layered over its usual laid-back hot spring town feel during this festival, and the night deepens along with the glow of lanterns. The first day, visited in this course, is when you can experience the fresh atmosphere of the festival just getting underway.
