Summer night in Shogi Town: food stalls and lantern-lit celebration
About this spot
The 2026 Tendo Summer Festival runs August 8–9 along the street from Tendo Onsen Shinoda Hospital South Crossroad to Wakuwaku Land's west entrance. Food stalls line both sides of the venue, bustling with families from late afternoon through evening. While Tendo is famous for shogi, the festival adds vibrant summer-fair energy to the town's relaxed hot-spring atmosphere. As lanterns glow with the falling dusk, the night deepens in the soft light—and you'll experience the opening day, with the freshness and excitement of a festival just beginning.
