The shopping district area spreading out in front of JR Hanamaki Station offers a wide range of options, from local cuisine to casual eateries. During the festival, foot traffic increases from the station toward the venue area, and by evening a festive atmosphere begins to spread across the whole town. Since the venue is within walking or bus distance, it's smooth to fuel up here before heading over.
Tips
The area around the venue gets crowded after dark, so it's safest to finish dinner by around 4 p.m. Be sure to use the restroom beforehand as well.
