A commercial area at the front of JR Izumo City Station with numerous restaurants where you can easily stop by, including Izumo soba shops. Since the festival venue, Kunibiki Central Avenue Four Corners Square, is within walking distance, it's convenient to have a light meal here before heading out. As evening approaches, the station area becomes lively with people heading to the festival.

出雲神話まつりの一環として開かれる出雲盆踊りは、出雲市の中心市街地・今市町のくにびき中央通り四つ角広場を会場に、2026年は8月8日16時から20時まで開催されます。神話の里らしい、ゆったりとした音頭と太鼓のリズムに合わせて、地元の人々や旅行者が幾重にも輪を作って踊ります。夕方の早い時間帯から始まるため、小さな子ども連れの家族でも参加しやすいのが特徴です。踊りの輪は誰でも自由に加われるので、見よう見まねで一緒に踊ってみるのもおすすめです。

会場周辺は夕方から交通規制がかかることがあるため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。荒天時の開催可否は主催者の発表を確認してください。
