4 PM starts: Izumo Bon Dance - Form circles and dance to slow-tempo music

As part of the Izumo Mythological Festival, the Izumo Bon dance is held at Kunibiki Central Avenue Four Corners Square in Imaichi-machi, the heart of Izumo City, running from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on August 8, 2026. To the slow-tempo music and drum rhythm characteristic of the mythological land, locals and travelers form multiple circles to dance. Starting in the early evening hours makes it especially accessible for families with young children. The dance circle is open to anyone, so feel free to try dancing along and learn as you join in.
