The Tsuwano Bon Dance Festival (津和野盆踊り大会) is a summer festival brimming with the atmosphere of a castle town, held on Tonomachi Street (殿町通り), where carp swim in the moat and white-walled storehouses line the way. In 2026 it is held on August 15, with locals and travelers alike forming circles to enjoy the Bon dance. The real charm of this course is seeing the same streets you walked by day, past the Inari shrine, the church, and the former residence, take on a different look at night, lit by lantern light. Please enjoy the calm Bon dance atmosphere unique to this 'Little Kyoto of San'in' with your family.
