An observation deck at the top of Kougon-yama mountain (approximately 221m high), offering a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea from southern Hiroshima to Saka Town and Kure. On clear days, you can see the silhouettes of islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea, such as Etajima and Nijima. You can drive to the summit, making it easy for families to enjoy the spectacular scenery. The sparkling sea under the summer sun offers a preview of the ocean breeze awaiting you in Kure and Saka Town.
Tips
Parking space near the summit is limited and you may need to wait depending on the time. There's little shade around the observation deck, so bring a hat or parasol for peace of mind.
Best time to visit
About 50 minutes. The late afternoon when the sun's rays soften also offers beautiful sea views.
