Officially known as the Kure City Maritime History and Science Museum, its centerpiece is a full-scale 1/10 replica of the Yamato at 26.3 meters long that dominates the museum's center with its impressive presence. The museum features extensive exhibits on Kure's shipbuilding and steel manufacturing history, as well as actual Zero fighter aircraft displays, offering an engaging way to learn how Kure developed as a town surrounded by the sea. Tips

Located within a 5-minute walk from Kure Station with excellent access. Admission is required. The museum is crowded during summer vacation, so arriving with spare time is recommended. The museum is large with much to see, so plan for over an hour of viewing time.
