Matsuyama's Unique Dance Festival, with Food Trucks and Lively Atmosphere
About this spot
A unique festival adapting 'Yakyu-ken,' a traditional parlor game originating in Matsuyama, into a dance form. Held for three days from August 7-9, with the entire area of Oodaidori, Senfune-cho, and Shiroyama Park (Hori-no-uchi area) as venues. Dancers in elaborate costumes and choreography parade through the shopping street, with onlookers clapping in rhythm. Food trucks operate at the Shiroyama Park venue, allowing you to enjoy food while watching the festival—a major attraction of this event. With Matsuyama Castle's keep visible in the backdrop, the castle's night illumination adds to the festive atmosphere.
