A shopping street that spreads through the Furucho area, which has prospered as the center of Niigata since the Edo period. Long-established Japanese sweet shops and clothing stores still line the street, allowing you to feel the historic commercial culture of Niigata as it developed as a port town. As the festival draws near, the entire shopping street gradually takes on the atmosphere of the festival, building anticipation for heading to the evening venue.

日本海に開けた港町・新潟の夏を締めくくる新潟まつりは、2026年は8月7日(金)から9日(日)までの開催で、その初日を訪れます。柾谷小路から萬代橋、万代地区にかけての広いエリアが会場となり、新潟甚句流しや民謡流しでは浴衣姿の踊り手が通りを埋め尽くします。信濃川の川面を彩る花火も見どころのひとつで、萬代橋越しに見る花火は新潟まつりならではの絶景です。港町の歴史散策から一転、街全体が熱気に包まれる大規模な夏祭りの夜を家族で満喫しましょう。

Tips

会場周辺は大規模な人出となるため、花火観覧のよい場所を確保したい場合は早めの場所取りが安心です。周辺は交通規制がかかるため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。川沿いは夜風が涼しいため、羽織るものがあると快適です。
