The venue spans from Masagidani Alley to the Bandai Bridge and Bandai district, where dancers in yukatas perform Niigata folk songs and traditional folk dances, filling the streets. Fireworks that illuminate the surface of the Shinano River are also a highlight, and the view of fireworks over the Bandai Bridge is a spectacular sight unique to the Niigata Festival. The area around the venue draws large crowds, so if you want to secure a good spot to watch the fireworks, arriving early for a place is recommended. Traffic restrictions are in place in the area, so using public transportation is advised. The river breeze at night is cool, so bringing something to wear will keep you comfortable.

Best time to visit

From 5pm onward. The most spectacular views are from 6pm onward when the folk singing heats up, and when the fireworks are launched.
