This brackish-water lake spreads out right next to Ryotsu and is known for its thriving oyster farming, a Sado specialty. Oyster-farming rafts float on the water, and the calm surface reflects the surrounding mountains. Taking a relaxed walk along the lakeside promenade lets you enjoy the island's peaceful pace, and it's a perfect place to rest after touring Toki Forest Park.
Tips
About a 10-minute drive from Toki Forest Park. Some parts of the lakeside have little shade, so a hat is reassuring. During oyster season, direct-sales stalls sometimes appear.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. As evening approaches, the lake surface takes on a calmer look.
