A facility dedicated to the protection and breeding of the crested ibis, a nationally designated natural treasure and symbol of Sado Island. At the Toki Information Center, you can learn about the ecology and protection history of crested ibis, and from the outdoor observation walkway, you can observe the birds up close. Learning about how the crested ibis, once on the brink of extinction, has achieved wild revival through the efforts of Sado's people, deepens your understanding of this island's nature.

佐渡島の玄関口である両津地区で開かれる両津七夕・川開きは、2026年8月8日(土)の開催です。両津港周辺の通りには色とりどりの七夕飾りが飾られ、夜になると港の夜空に花火が打ち上がります。フェリーが行き交う港町ならではの開放的な雰囲気の中、地元の人々や観光客が一緒になって夏の夜を楽しむ、佐渡らしいあたたかい祭りです。日中に加茂湖やトキの森公園で触れた島の自然の余韻を残しながら、夜は港を彩る花火と七夕飾りを家族で満喫しましょう。
Tips
会場周辺は交通規制がかかることがあるため、公共交通機関や徒歩でのアクセスがおすすめです。港沿いは夜風が強く感じられることがあるため、羽織るものがあると安心です。フェリーの発着時間と重なる場合があるため、周辺の混雑にも注意しましょう。
Tips
An entrance fee is required, and the observation walkway is outdoors, so sun protection is important in summer. The number of birds you can see varies depending on their activity, so observing at different times is also recommended. The indoor exhibition area is cool and good for resting.
Best time to visit
Takes approximately 1 hour. You can observe leisurely during the calm afternoon hours.
