Spectacular Drive Across Cobalt Blue Sea

About this spot

A bridge spanning approximately 2 km connecting Yagaji Island and Kouri Island, the Island of Love, boasting one of Japan's longest toll-free bridge lengths. Cobalt blue waters transition to emerald green on both sides of the bridge, creating the sensation of gliding across the sea for a thrilling drive. At the base on the Kouri Island side sits the Kouri Fureaikai Square, a rest stop featuring restaurants using local island ingredients, shops, and sandy beaches. Enjoying fresh seafood lunch while gazing directly at the bridge and sea is the highlight of this course's midday experience.

Tips

Stopping or parking on the bridge is prohibited. For safe photography, use the observation area on the Yagaji Island side before crossing or the Fureaikai Square after crossing. Fresh seafood bowls and other island cuisine are popular for lunch; arriving slightly earlier than peak times is recommended to avoid crowds.

Best time to visit

Approximately 45 minutes required. When the sun is high in mid-morning to early afternoon, the sea's color shines most vibrantly.
