About this spot
This summer Bon dance event has been passed down for generations by local residents on the grounds of Hiyoshi Shrine in Koura Town. In 2026 it is scheduled for August 21. At the signal of taiko drums, local children and adults alike dance together in a circle, creating a warm sense of unity unique to this satoyama village, quite different from a large festival in a city. Part of the charm of this festival is being able to actually join the circle and experience the dance steps that have been handed down across generations.
