About this spot

This observation park is set on a hilltop in Tensui-machi, offering sweeping views of the Ariake Sea below and the ridgeline of Mt. Unzen-Fugen rising on the far shore. It's a refreshing spot where the sea breeze blows through, letting you enjoy the calm scenery typical of the Ariake Sea's shallow tidal flats. With plenty of shaded benches, it's a good place to catch your breath on a hot summer afternoon. Heading from here to the evening venue, Kusamakura Onsen Tensui, gives the day a natural shift from ocean views to festival excitement.

Tips

There's a gentle uphill slope from the parking area. As evening approaches, the western sun softens and it becomes cooler. Bringing a drink for your break is recommended.

Best time to visit

About 50 minutes. The closer to evening, the more comfortable it is.
