A park where the beautiful sailing ship Nippon Maru—known as the "Swan of the Pacific"—is moored. The ship's interior is open as a museum where you can view how sailors once lived and how the ship was operated. Together with the adjacent Yokohama Port Museum, it's a beloved spot to experience Yokohama Port's history. The waterside promenade is pleasant for strolling, and the sailship silhouetted against Minato Mirai's buildings is an excellent photo spot.

横浜港とベイブリッジを望む開放的な芝生広場・臨港パークで、8月28日・29日の2日間、16時30分から20時30分まで行われる夏恒例の盆踊りです。会場中央に組まれた櫓を囲んで、地元の人々や観光客が入り混じり大きな輪を作って踊る光景は、都会的なみなとみらいの街並みとは対照的な、どこか懐かしい夏祭りの空気を運んできます。日が傾くにつれて海風が心地よくなり、輪の熱気と潮の香りが混ざり合う独特の雰囲気を楽しめます。踊りが苦手な子どもも、輪の外から太鼓の音に合わせて過ごすだけで十分に祭り気分を味わえます。
Tips
会場は広い芝生広場のため、レジャーシートがあると休憩に便利です。海沿いのため夕方以降は風が出て涼しく感じることもあるので、羽織るものがあると安心です。荒天時の開催可否は主催者の発表を確認しましょう。
Tips
About 5 minutes' walk from Sakuragi-cho Station toward Minato Mirai. Ship interior viewing is charged. There's little shade along the waterside, so take frequent breaks in summer.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. The ship's white hull looks beautiful in afternoon light.
