Centered on Kehi Jingu Shrine, long revered as the guardian shrine of the Hokuriku region, this is Tsuruga's signature autumn festival, held over four days from September 2 to 5. Floats and portable shrines parade around Kehi Jingu Shrine, and to the sound of drums, the whole town takes on a festive atmosphere. The sight of the procession passing through the large torii gate is powerful, conveying the depth of the region's history and faith. On this first day, you can fully experience the excitement that kicks off the four-day festival.

Tips
Traffic restrictions may be in place around the venue at night, so using public transportation is recommended. The shrine grounds and approach get crowded with many people after dark, so be careful not to get separated if you're with small children.
Best time to visit
It's most impressive after 6:00 PM, when the sun sets and the floats begin to light up.
