This shopping street faces Honmachi-dori, part of National Route 8, connecting Tsuruga Station and Kehi Jingu Shrine. In fiscal 2020, the road was narrowed from four lanes to two, widening the sidewalk, and this stretch was designated a “hokomichi” (pedestrian-friendly road), making it easier to hold street stalls and events here. If you finish dinner along the widened sidewalk, you can then watch the floats and portable shrines parade from 5:00 PM at a relaxed pace. As the sun sets, more and more people in yukata appear along the street, building the festival mood.

Tips

The town center can get crowded on festival evenings, so it's recommended to arrive early.

About 35 minutes. Ideal timing for a meal before the festival begins.
