Early Dinner in the Downtown Area Before the Festival Begins

In the Tsuruga downtown area near Kehi Shrine, various local dining establishments are scattered throughout. By having dinner here before the festival's main events, you can leisurely view the floats and portable shrine processions starting at 5 p.m. As evening falls, the streets fill with people in yukata (casual summer kimonos), and you'll feel the festive atmosphere building.

北陸道総鎮守として古くから信仰を集める氣比神宮を中心に、9月2日から5日までの4日間にわたって行われる敦賀の秋を代表する祭りです。氣比神宮を舞台に山車や神輿が巡行し、太鼓の音とともに街全体が祭り一色に染まります。大きな鳥居をくぐって進む行列の様子は迫力があり、地域の歴史と信仰の深さを感じさせてくれます。初日となるこの日は、4日間続く祭りの幕開けの熱気を存分に味わえます。

会場周辺は夜間交通規制がかかることがあるため、公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。境内や参道は夜になると多くの人で混み合うので、小さなお子さん連れははぐれないよう気をつけましょう。
