A charming local railway station where the wooden station building built in the Taisho era still remains today. The station building, which has walked alongside the region's history, is popular with photography enthusiasts and has a leisurely atmosphere. The unusual station name "Saidoujo" derives from this area's past as a copper production center and connects to the history of Seishi-den, which you'll visit next.

香春町立総合運動公園を会場に、地域を挙げて開催される夏恒例の盆踊り大会です。会場には約30店の夜店が軒を連ね、金魚すくいやかき氷など夏祭りらしい賑わいを楽しめます。中央に組まれた櫓を囲んで、地元の人々が世代を超えて輪になって踊る光景は、香春町ならではのアットホームな温かさに満ちています。三つの峰を持つ香春岳を背景に日が暮れていく様子も、この地ならではの美しい眺めです。

Tips

夜店での飲食には小銭があると便利です。運動公園は広いため、はぐれないよう待ち合わせ場所を決めておきましょう。荒天時の開催可否は主催者の発表を確認しましょう。
