A ritual site with deep connections to the tradition that copper mined here was used in coin minting during the Nara period. It is still used for special Shinto rituals and quietly tells the story of Kasuga Town's important role as a copper-producing region since ancient times. This is a precious location where you can actually witness the history that gave rise to the name of Saidoujo Station.

香春町立総合運動公園を会場に、地域を挙げて開催される夏恒例の盆踊り大会です。会場には約30店の夜店が軒を連ね、金魚すくいやかき氷など夏祭りらしい賑わいを楽しめます。中央に組まれた櫓を囲んで、地元の人々が世代を超えて輪になって踊る光景は、香春町ならではのアットホームな温かさに満ちています。三つの峰を持つ香春岳を背景に日が暮れていく様子も、この地ならではの美しい眺めです。
Tips
夜店での飲食には小銭があると便利です。運動公園は広いため、はぐれないよう待ち合わせ場所を決めておきましょう。荒天時の開催可否は主催者の発表を確認しましょう。
