About this spot

This ritual site is closely tied to a tradition holding that copper mined in this area was used for coin minting during the Nara period. It is still used today for special Shinto rites, quietly conveying the history of Kawara Town's important role as a copper-producing region since ancient times. It is also a valuable spot to see firsthand the history behind the name of Saidosho Station.

Tips

Within walking distance of Saidosho Station. As it is surrounded by nature, insect repellent is recommended.

About 45 minutes. A quiet time in the early evening is recommended for a visit
