Explore a historic park with reconstructed Jomon-era pit dwellings
About this spot
A park built around the National Historic Site 'Miyahata Ruins,' featuring full-scale reconstructions of pit dwellings and post-set buildings from the late Jomon period. The on-site guidance facility presents excavated pottery and dwelling layouts clearly, allowing visitors to envision ancient life while exploring. The expansive grassy grounds are easy to walk through, and unusually for a ruins park, offer open space for children to run, combining historical learning with outdoor recreation.
