Located within Terrace Numata, the complex facility that also houses the Numata City Hall, this museum offers an easy-to-follow introduction to the history of Numata Castle and its castle town under the rule of the Sanada clan. Visiting after walking the castle ruins deepens your understanding of the stone walls and moats you've just seen, and also sheds light on the background of the festival you're about to witness. The air-conditioned interior also makes for a valuable rest stop during the hot summer hours.

Tips

Since it's inside Terrace Numata, it's convenient to combine your visit with a rest in the same building. It's less than a 10-minute drive from Numata Park. The museum may have photography rules, so please follow the posted guidance.
