A courageous summer festival centered on the Sennen Kubo-sama portable shrine, said to be one of the three wildest sacred portable shrines in the Kanto region, unfolding throughout the central shopping district of Numata, including Higashikurauchi-cho. In 2026, it will run for three days from August 3rd to 5th, and from the first day, the streets are filled with the heat of the festival with various events such as the parade of the portable shrine, drums, and dancing. The sight of the carriers vigorously swaying the shrine as it parades through the streets is a powerful spectacle unique to Numata, a castle town that developed on a river cliff terrace. As the night deepens, the sounds of festival music and cheers echo, creating a summer memory to cherish.

The portable shrine's parade route attracts heavy crowds, so for safety, those with young children should view from a distance rather than pushing to get close.
