From around 7:30 p.m., the concurrently held Kanra Town Fireworks Festival launches about 2,000 fireworks over roughly 40 minutes. Unlike festivals in big cities, the charm of this festival lies in its close, familiar community feel, making it a relaxed setting even for families with children. A leisure sheet is handy for securing a spot to watch the fireworks. From 7 p.m., vehicles are not allowed near the festival plaza, and shuttle buses run from a temporary parking area between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., so allow extra time to get there.
