About this spot

This is the terminal station of the Joshin Dentetsu Railway, which connects Takasaki City and the town of Shimonita in Gunma Prefecture. The wooden station building, which strongly retains the atmosphere of its opening in the early Showa era, is still in active use today. The retro-style platform and station structure are popular not only with train enthusiasts but also with families who enjoy photography. On festival days, the station makes a convenient starting point for walking around town, and it's ideal for a stroll during the cool morning hours.

Tips

There is a small parking lot in front of the station. Since some shops may not be open early in the morning, it's best to focus on strolling and taking photos.

Best time to visit

About 30 minutes. The cool morning hours are also recommended for photography.
