This historical park brings together a cluster of ancient burial mounds scattered around Ishioka City along with reconstructed pit dwellings and raised-floor storehouses. The grounds are lush, green hill country, and walking through them in the morning sun lets you start the day feeling refreshed. The sight of buildings that convey the daily life of ancient people is a highlight unique to Ishioka, once the center of Hitachi Province. The exhibition facility is not yet open at this hour, but the outdoor burial mounds and reconstructed buildings can be viewed freely.
Tips
It's convenient to travel here by car from the Hitachi Kokubunji Temple Ruins. The grounds have some ups and downs, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Since the exhibition hall opens during the daytime, an early-morning visit will mostly involve the outdoor areas.

About 40 minutes. The cool morning hours are best suited for exploring the hills.
