Rest by the Lakeside with a View of Lake Suwa
About this spot
This lakeside park developed on the Okaya side of Lake Suwa, Nagano's largest lake, features walking paths and benches along the shoreline. The breeze from the water's surface is pleasant, and on clear days you can see the Yatsugatake mountain range and Kirigamine peaks in the distance. In summer, it's the perfect place to take a leisurely walk while enjoying the cool lakeside breeze, and it's also a beloved jogging and walking route for local residents.

岡谷市のイルフプラザ広場周辺を舞台に開かれる「岡谷太鼓まつり」です。2026年は8月13日(木)・14日(金)の2日間にわたって開催され、地域の太鼓連や子どもたちによる演奏が広場に響き渡る、岡谷の夏を締めくくる一大イベントです。大小さまざまな太鼓が息を合わせて打ち鳴らされる様子は迫力満点で、周辺には屋台も並び家族連れで賑わいます。このコースでは、昼間に諏訪湖畔や岡谷の歴史を巡ったあと、夜は太鼓の轟きに包まれる本番を楽しむ流れにしています。
Tips
まつり当日は会場周辺が混雑し、車両の乗り入れが規制される場合があります。公共交通機関の利用が安心です。太鼓の音が非常に大きいため、小さな子どもは驚くことがあるので、様子を見ながら距離を調整しましょう。
Tips
Accessible on foot or by bus from JR Okaya Station. Since the lakeside is open, wearing a hat or carrying an umbrella is recommended during strong sunlight hours.
Best time to visit
Approximately 50 minutes. Early afternoon is relatively quiet, allowing for a leisurely walk.
