This museum introduces the history of Okaya, which thrived as a silk production center once called 'Silk Okaya' and 'the Switzerland of the East.' Inside the museum, you can observe actual operating silk-reeling machines up close and witness the process of transforming cocoons into raw silk. It's a valuable facility where you can experience how Okaya supported Japan's industrial development in the modern era through actual machinery and materials.

Accessible on foot or by car from Suwa Lakeside Park. An admission fee is required for entry. Since machinery demonstrations vary by day, it's best to confirm the schedule in advance.
