Running through the heart of Hirosaki, this arcade shopping street becomes the Tetsudo-cho course of the Neputa Festival itself. Eateries serving local specialties like jappa soup and Tsugaru soba dot the street. As festival day evening approaches, lanterns begin to glow and excitement builds. Eating here before 5 PM ensures smooth movement during the parade.

2026年は8月1日から7日まで、土手町コースと駅前コースで交互に開催される弘前の夏の風物詩です。初日の8月1日は土手町コースが舞台となり、武者絵などが描かれた扇形の「扇ねぷた」と、精巧な人形を組んだ「組ねぷた」が次々と登場します。笛・太鼓・手振り鉦のお囃子に合わせて「ヤーヤドー」の掛け声が響き渡り、灯りをともした山車が夜の城下町をゆっくりと練り歩く様子は圧巻です。青森ねぶたとはひと味違う、津軽ならではの勇壮さと繊細さを併せ持つ祭りをじっくり楽しめます。
Tips
土手町コース沿いは開始前から場所取りが始まります。良い場所で見たい場合は16時台から沿道に着いておくと安心です。ベビーカーの場合は後方や交差点付近が見やすくおすすめです。荒天時の開催可否は公式情報で確認しましょう。
