Giant 23-Meter Floats Illuminated at Night Parading Through Downtown

About this spot

From August 4-8, 2026, colossal Tachinepu floats 23 meters tall and weighing about 19 tons parade through downtown Goshogawara nightly at 7 PM, advancing between buildings at incomparable scale. Participants pull them with powerful force while chanting 'Ya-tte-mare!' These giants were once lost when power lines were installed, yet the community's dedication led to undergrounding the lines to revive them—a testament to the city's festival devotion. Illuminated Tachinepu lighting the night sky exemplifies Tsugaru's summer spirit.
