A historic site preserving the house where Shimizu Jiro-cho, a masterless samurai who thrived from the late Edo period through the Meiji era, was born and raised. The small wooden house displays materials showing how people lived at that time, allowing visitors to trace the footsteps of a figure indispensable to the history of the port town of Shimizu. Located in a quiet corner not overly touristy, it's a perfect size for a brief stop during your town walk.
