About this spot

A scenic location designated as a constituent asset of the UNESCO World Heritage site "Mt. Fuji." Approximately 7 kilometers of coastline hosts tens of thousands of pines, and the famous Hagoromomatsu (羽衣の松) tree invites you into the world of the celestial maiden legend that is said to have transpired here. Walking the sacred pine-lined path called the "Way of the Divine," which extends from Miho Shrine, allows you to feel how people of old revered Mt. Fuji as a sacred presence. The cultural facility "Miho Shirube" (みほしるべ) offers insights into the celestial maiden legend and the history of pine grove conservation.

Tips

Since you'll be walking on sand, comfortable shoes are recommended. Miho Shirube is free to enter and features an observation deck and souvenir shop, making it convenient for a rest break. On windy days, bring a light jacket for added comfort.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Afternoon light beautifully illuminates the colors of the pines and sea.
