Izu's largest summer festival with magnificent floats and hand-held fireworks filling the streets
About this spot
Running from August 15-17, 2026, this festival coincides with Mishima Taisha's annual festival, one of Izu's largest summer festivals. Along Mishima-dori Avenue from Mishima Taisha to Mishima Hiroko-ji Station, elaborately carved festival floats process accompanied by 'shagiri' festival music, while spirited hand-held fireworks shoot flames into the night sky. The street filled with the Mishima music and festive heat becomes packed with spectators, representing a major summer event symbolizing Mishima, the city of water.
